Dance Gavin Dance Shakes Up The Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas

Can Dance Gavin Dance still… dance? After 21 years as a band, the answer is still yes!  They are still touring, still making albums, and still rocking out. Having just wrapped up their tour in Las Vegas, NV, at the Brooklyn Bowl on July 1, 2026, DGD shows they haven’t lost a step in two decades. Even with a revised band member roster, DGD has not changed one bit. They are still that band that mixes melodies and harmonies with screaming.

Opening the show, French metalcore band Novelist is a band to keep an ear out for. Taking over the U.S. airwaves is a strong possibility.

Next on the lineup was Wolf & Bear, and they did not disappoint. Walking out to the stage to “La Chona” and dropping straight into a hardcore set lets you know you should be paying attention to them.

Horse The Band would take the stage next. Known for their 8-bit sound, they put out a full byte of energy, both on stage and in the crowd.

Dance Gavin Dance then took the stage, opening with “Animal Surgery,” “Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise,” and moving into “Midnight at McGuffy’s.” Those first three songs set the tone for the show, and the audience was there for it. The energy from Andrew and Jon hyping the crowd with every word and every scream, from every riff and every pedal, and the display of lights made the show nothing short of amazing. Their performance, in turn, fueled seemingly endless crowd surfing, mosh pits, and people singing every word to every song, a nostalgic moment for the millennials of yesteryear who have grown up with the band. Alongside them were the next generation, who had just discovered DGD and were listening to them live for the first time, witnessing what a great band they really are. Definitely a “You had to be there” moment.

Dance Gavin Dance is one of those bands that proves creativity does not have to end just because you get older. A band of 21 years, they should probably be putting out a greatest-hits album and holding reunion tours, like many bands from the early 2000s, but instead, they are touring, putting out new music, and proving it was not just a phase.
